A bit About Councillor Habib Tejan
Cllr. Habib O S Tejan officially and affectionately known as HT, is the 18th Mayor of Medway.
He is also the first Mayor of Medway Unitary Authority UK of African Heritage. With Sierra Leonean and Liberian origins, he attended the Cuttington University College in Liberia before obtaining post graduate awards in Management from the Open University UK in 2009, and most recently from University of Liverpool Business School.
Cllr. Habib Tejan is currently prominent in The Membership and business of the Court of the University of Kent at Canterbury. Husband, father and astute businessman committed to the people of his constituency and community.
His political position has been described as populist, humanitarian, directed at the promotion of democracy, diversity and development. His business practices equally advance his political standing. Cllr. Habib Tejan actively supports the work of charity and non-profit organisation within the UK and the diaspora.
Amongst peers prominent in enterprise and commerce, Mr Mayor is known as “HT” an acronym for “Habitually Tactful”; ode to his innate ability to develop solutions for even the most complicated commercial transaction. HT is a charismatic public speaker committed to the promotion of the view that politics is about governance and progress is always absolutely about the people.
